ELIGIBILITY
WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY?

For the internship, you must be in your penultimate year of study and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above, from any university.

We have no requirement for UCAS points for our internships.

HOW DO I PROVE THAT I AM ON TRACK TO ACHIEVE A MINIMUM OF A 2:2 DEGREE?

We’ll verify this through asking for your previous transcripts to demonstrate you’ve achieved at least a 2.2 or above and are on track to achieve this on completion of your degree.

WHAT IF I DON’T MEET THE PROGRAMME’S MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS?

You must meet all the entry requirements to qualify for the programme. It’s important that we have a consistent recruitment approach to ensure the process is as fair and effective as possible. DUE TO EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES I DON’T MEET THE MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS. CAN I STILL APPLY?

We assess each case individually, so please get in touch by emailing lloydsbankinggrouptalent@peoplescout.co.uk.

Typically, we’d expect extenuating circumstances to be validated by an official letter from your university or a medical practitioner, confirming your circumstances.

CAN I APPLY TO MORE THAN ONE PROGRAMME?

We’ll only accept one application per recruitment campaign year. However, if the programme you applied for is full, and your skills and interests match programmes within the same job family, we’ll get in touch to talk about these other opportunities.

WILL I BE CONSIDERED FOR AN ALTERNATE PROGRAMME IF THE PROGRAMME I ORIGINALLY APPLIED FOR HAS BEEN FILLED?

We will consider you for similar programmes where we are still recruiting and if this is the case will be in touch to discuss.

CAN I COMPLETE AN INTERNSHIP IF I’M NOT IN MY PENULTIMATE YEAR OF STUDY AT UNIVERSITY?

No. Internships are aimed at providing work experience during a degree course and, to ensure consistency, you must be in your penultimate year of study.

I HAVE AN INTERNATIONAL QUALIFICATION, HOW WILL MY ELIGIBILITY BE ASSESSED?

You’ll need to provide the full details of your qualification with your application, which we’ll then verify using NARIC, a tool that assesses the conversion of international qualifications to their UK recognised equivalent. If your international qualification does not meet the minimum UK recognised equivalent required to apply for the programme, we will be unable to proceed with your application.

ELIGIBILITY TO WORK
I’M AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT; AM I ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

At Lloyds Banking Group we value and actively seek a diverse workforce. If you wish to make an application and are successful for our Graduate or Undergraduate Schemes, it is essential that you have the right to work in the UK at the date of commencement. We will ask you questions about your current status through the application process and check right to work documents before you join. At that time, we will have full Government guidance on the new immigration system.

The UK immigration system for Skilled Workers and International Graduates is changing with effect from 1 January 2021; these new rules will be relevant to Graduates and Undergraduates joining the 2021 Schemes. All applicants are assessed on their skills and abilities. We will discuss right to work and, if necessary, sponsorship by Lloyds Banking Group under the new Skilled Worker route with those applicants that are successful in reaching the final stages of the process.  At that time, we will have the full details of the new immigration system available to us. Sponsorship is subject to all the appropriate criteria specified by UK Visas & Immigration, being satisfied. Lloyds Banking Group is unable to offer a guarantee that an application for a Skilled Worker visa to the UK Visas & Immigration will be successful.

EU Nationals that are resident in the UK before the end of 2020 can apply to the EU Settlement Scheme for settled or pre-settled status which will give right to work on the Graduate and Undergraduate Schemes.  Applicants that are not resident before the end of 2020, or do not meet the criteria for the EU Settlement Scheme, will need to consider right to work options.

APPLICATION PROCESS
WHEN IS THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT?

The application deadlines vary per programme, but we will close earlier if we reach the required number and quality of applications sooner than this, so we strongly advise you apply promptly to avoid disappointment.

For the best experience, you should access the assessments using a common operating system and browser (i.e. Google Chrome, Opera or Firefox). We would also recommend, that you access the system using a computer/laptop with a strong Wi-Fi connection.

CAN I JUST SUBMIT A CV INSTEAD?

No, you must complete the online application form.

WHY DO YOU ASK DIVERSITY RELATED QUESTIONS AS PART OF THE APPLICATION FORM?

As part of the application form we will ask you to complete some questions that we use to measure the diversity of our applications to ensure we are providing equal opportunities. It’s not compulsory to answer these but all information is recorded anonymously, and the data collected helps us ensure we offer a fair and transparent application process.

Positive Action Interview Scheme (PAIS)

SCHEME DETAILS
WHERE ARE THE INTERNSHIPS BASED?

As one of the largest financial services groups in the UK, we have offices and branches across the UK. We want you to gain valuable insights into the diversity of our business, so our Internships are based in different locations within the UK. We will inform you of where your Internship is based at least two months prior to joining. All our internships require you to be flexible in terms of your location therefore, we ask you within the application form to confirm you’re happy to commit to the location requirements of the scheme you’re applying to.

If you have extenuating circumstances which require you to have a fixed location we can consider these on a case by case basis – you should still apply, but please state NO to the location commitment question and we will get in touch to understand your circumstances in due course. CAN I RETAKE THE ONLINE TESTS AGAIN IF I FAIL THE FIRST TIME?

Unfortunately, to be fair and consistent to all candidates and what we are assessing you against, you won’t be able to sit the tests again.

Yes. As these assessments are online, you can do it at a time and place that suits you – whether that’s early in the morning or late into the night. We recommend you pick somewhere quiet though, and it’s a good idea to turn off your mobile phone, too.

CAN I HAVE FEEDBACK ON MY TESTS?

While we can’t provide individual results, you will receive an Insights report after completing the Online Assessment which will help you understand more about your strengths and areas of development. This isn’t an indication of whether you have been successful in moving to the next stage.

ELIGIBILITY
WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY?

For the Software Engineering scheme you must be in your penultimate year at University and on track to achieve or have achieved a 2:2 or above, from any university.

We have no requirement for UCAS points for this scheme.

If you’re working part time for Lloyds Banking Group while you study, are in your penultimate year of University and are on track to achieve a 2:2 degree or above, you will be assessed in the same way as all external candidates. When applying, please ensure you use an external email address in your application.

CAN I JUST SUBMIT A CV INSTEAD?

Everyone has their own unique combination of strengths and areas for development, so we want to see the ‘real you.’ We’re not expecting perfect performances, so the best way to prepare is by thinking about your natural strengths – the things you enjoy doing and are good at.

WHEN DO THE ASSESSMENT DAYS TAKE PLACE?

We will advise you of the scheduled dates for your scheme nearer the time so that you can keep the date free.

CAN I CLAIM EXPENSES FOR COSTS INCURRED WHILE ATTENDING AN ASSESSMENT DAY?

When your assessment day place is confirmed, we’ll send you the details of the travel policy to help you book your travel. We’ll also send you details of the claims procedure, which you’ll need to complete and return within two weeks of your assessment day.
