Qualifications

Study to qualify as an Actuary and become a Fellow of The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. Training and costs are all taken care of.

Is our Actuarial Graduate Scheme for You?

Love a good problem to solve? Great with numbers and critical thinking? Training as an Actuary could be your perfect fit. 

You’ll get a 360-degree view of our insurance business and discover the full scale and what being an Actuary really means. The work is challenging, fascinating, and full of variety. It’s never ordinary. 

Turn complicated information and data into simple insights that anyone can understand. You’ll communicate clearly and effectively. Be keen to learn new skills, and work to make smart, informed decisions and a real difference for our colleagues, business and customers. 

A key part of this scheme includes working towards your Actuarial exams. These will provide you with the knowledge and skills to be successful and qualify as an Actuary. But don’t worry. We’ll help you every step of the way.

What you’ll learn

Over four years, you’ll complete a series of placements across our insurance business, developing skills and hands-on experience in: 

  • Coding complex insurance models.
  • Monitoring and reporting on our business performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Assessing the risks posed by climate change. 

A buddy or mentor will support you and offer guidance throughout the scheme. Access technical and business-aligned training. Further support your development via platforms such as Viva Learning and Learning Management systems.

Requirements

A 2:2 degree or above in any subject area from any university.  

This scheme operates in Bristol and Edinburgh. You will be in that location for the duration of your scheme. We support hybrid working with at least two days a week in the office

Applications for our Actuarial Graduate Scheme are currently closed.
Our graduate schemes may close early if we receive a high number of applications, so it’s best to apply as soon as you can.
