Eligibility

It depends on the programme you're interested in. Our entry requirements will be clearly listed on our job adverts.
All our apprenticeships require a minimum qualification in the following subjects and you will need to be able to evidence these:

•    (Scotland) National 5 (or equivalent) at grade A-C in both Maths and English (English language and / or literature).

•    (England/Wales/Crown Dependencies) GCSE (or equivalent) at grade 4-9 in both Maths and English (Language and / or Literature).

Yes, we do. You might need to provide evidence comparing your qualifications to UK standards (like a UK ENIC Statement of Comparability). If we need this, we'll let you know.

Absolutely! Although if you get an offer that requires specific qualifications, you’ll need to achieve your predicted grades prior to your Apprenticeship vacancy start date. Your offer will only become unconditional once you can evidence these.

Yes, that’s fine. Our apprenticeships are advertised internally and externally. Please apply via Workday.

It depends... If your degree is in a totally unrelated subject and doesn’t overlap with your apprenticeship learning modules, you should be good to go.

But if your degree is in a similar subject, or has modules that do overlap, we'll need to review your modules more closely. We might need to chat with you about it.

You must have the legal right to work in the UK. Due to Home Office requirements regarding Skilled Workers, we’re unable to accept applications for visa sponsorship for our apprenticeship roles as the proposed salary for the role does not meet the minimum threshold.

Apprenticeship opportunities

There’s a huge range to choose from, from intermediate to degree level.

Have a think about what kind of work you’d like to do. Each apprenticeship is designed for a specific role, so ask yourself “What do I enjoy doing? What am I naturally good at? What are my skills?”

Why not take a look at some of our profiles to help you decide?

If you can’t see the right role for you right now, just register your interest for a particular apprenticeship or a specific location and we’ll be in touch when something becomes available. Head over to the Register your interest page and leave your details.

It depends on the programme. Our apprenticeships typically run from 12 months to three years.

Yes! Our apprenticeship vacancies are permanent positions from day one.

To feel proud! Plus of course everyone on our apprenticeships gets a nationally recognised qualification. Some apprenticeships progress to higher level programmes. You’ll find all the details in the job adverts.

Application process

We recruit through the Autumn of each year - just keep checking our website for our latest opportunities. Throughout the year, we add more content about working at Lloyds Banking Group and our people.

All across the UK in our Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland branches. We also have apprentice opportunities in many of our larger business hubs, such as Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Chester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Halifax, Leeds, London, Manchester and Newport. And if you’re not particularly close to any of these locations, why not experience life in a new city?

Head over to the Application Process page for all the details you need..

Assessment days are simply a chance for us to learn a bit more about you. They happen online or face to face, and you’ll be asked to complete a few straightforward tasks and activities which might include all, or some, of the following:

  • a skills-based interview
  • a team exercise
  • a group activity including a presentation
  • pre-work

If you’re invited to an assessment day, we’ll assess you against the criteria we’ve set for the role. Just be yourself and enjoy the experience!

Energy and enthusiasm for our business and the role you’ve applied for. Do some research about our brands, our vision, and our competitors. Be ready to tell us why you’re interested in working for us and why you think the apprenticeship you’ve applied for matches your skills and interests.

You can get an inside view from someone who works at Lloyds Banking Group to help you prepare. Read more here.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a lot of previous work experience, our apprenticeships are designed to teach you everything you will need to know to be successful in your role. However, we’ll still need to assess if you have the right attitude and enthusiasm for our business and the apprenticeship you’ve applied for. Be ready to show us what other things you’ve done and any skills and experience you’ve gained from other activities – whether it’s volunteering or playing in a sports team.

For example, if you play sport, you may be able to talk about being a team player or having to attend training sessions as well as keeping on track with your studies. Perhaps you’ve done a Duke of Edinburgh award or some volunteering work. Tell us about your experience doing this. Or maybe you’ve had a part-time or summer job and you can talk about what this has taught you.

The role itself isn’t important, we’re just interested in any skills and experience you’ve picked up that you can transfer into your apprenticeship. It’s who you are and what you can offer that matters.

If you experience any issues during our application process, please contact us at lloydsbankinggroup@cappfinity.com

We're committed to always being an inclusive and diverse workforce. If you have a disability, long-term health condition, or neurodiverse condition, you can apply through our Disability Confident Scheme (DCS). Eligible candidates who meet the minimum criteria can progress if they meet 90% of the standard progression benchmark for the scheme.

If you're considering making an application under the DCS and have any questions, please contact the team at lloydsbankinggroup@cappfinity.com. When you apply, you should tick the disability confident box to declare you’re eligible. We may require further information in due course.

The Equality Act 2010 describes people with disabilities, long-term health or neuro-diverse conditions as someone who has a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and adverse long-term effect on his or her ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities.

Not at all, you’ll still be entitled to reasonable adjustments throughout the assessment process. Ultimately, we just want to give you the best chance to demonstrate your skills and capabilities, and an equal opportunity for success.

We know everyone is unique, and we want you to feel comfortable and perform your best. If you have a disability or condition that might affect your performance during the selection process, let us know. We have different assessment formats and can make adjustments, and we can discuss any needs you may have to be able to complete the process on an equal footing.

Further details on our assessments are on our Application Process page, and you can inform us of any adjustments you may require on your application form. In addition, the Assessment Practice Zone will enable you to gain an understanding of what to expect from the selection process, the potential impact of any disability and an understanding of what adjustments, if any, you feel would be needed. If you wish to speak to us prior to submitting your application, please contact us by  emailing lloydsbankinggroup@cappfinity.com.

Adjustments vary depending on your specific needs or circumstances. The best way to identify the most suitable adjustments is for us to speak with you, to work out what adjustments would be best.

We've built in some accessibility features to the assessments themselves that may help you, including adjustable font sizes, subtitles on videos, writing styles and layouts.

We strongly encourage you to advise us at the earliest opportunity should you need any adjustments through your application process. We’ll then reach out to discuss how we can accommodate these. If you didn’t include them in your application or just want to discuss the possibilities, please email the team at lloydsbankinggroup@cappfinity.com.
