Occupational Psychology

A front row seat to the science of work
When it comes to shaping how one of the UK’s largest organisations works, traditional HR can only take us so far.
We need data that leaves no room for guesswork. Technology that keeps people and processes connected. And strategy that’s born out of insight. Exactly what our People & Places teams do every single day.
But they don’t do it alone. Our occupational psychologists are the people behind the people – using behavioural science, research and insight to understand what makes work better. Be an Occupational Psychology intern with us and see how it all happens up close.

8 future-defining weeks
This isn’t an internship where you just sit back and observe. That means you’ll have a front-row seat to occupational psychology in action. And along the way, you’ll:
- Work with different teams on different projects
- Apply your classroom learning to real scenarios
- Gain a deeper understanding of what occupational psychology is like in the workplace

The work you could be doing
- Decode what makes people tick and turn it into practical solutions
- Help teams work better, not just harder
- Find out what drives performance and help people thrive
- Build more inclusive ways of working
- Help leaders bring out the best in their teams
And whatever you do, you’ll do it with the backing of the wider internship and Next Generation Talent community. That means having access to a central learning journey, networking opportunities and experiences that go beyond the usual.

What's next
This internship marks the beginning of a rewarding career in Occupational Psychology.
As you develop your skills and expand your network, you’ll have the opportunity to demonstrate your abilities.
And if you perform as well as we believe you can, you may be considered for upcoming graduate opportunities.
