Want to know what Commercial Banking is all about? We sat down with Honour, one of our graduates, to get her take.

Does a rotational graduate programme help or hinder?

It’s certainly a big help! The different rotations offer a chance to grow and develop key skills that will help us progress in our future careers at Lloyds. It also provides invaluable networks for us throughout Lloyds and friendly faces to connect with.

What are the skills and experiences that you’ve gained so far during your Finance placement?

I have grown my confidence in terms of decision making and strengthened my knowledge of core financial terms. This will prepare me for upcoming placements where I can utilise these to add value to the different teams.

How do graduates thrive at LBG?

Networking! Getting to know the other graduates and apprentices and leaning on them for advice on exams, work-life balance and knowledge sharing. I also believe in asking as many questions as possible! This is the best way to learn from our peers and get the most out of every placement.

Why did you choose a graduate programme at LBG?

I admire LBG’s values and their focus to create an inclusive environment for all employees where we all feel like valued members of a community. I have become part of the Breakthrough network supporting women in Finance and have found it very empowering to listen to testimonies of strong women within Lloyds.

Any tips for future graduates?

Be yourself, network, and ask questions! Talk to as many people as possible and don’t be scared to ask questions. In this way, you can build strong networks that will provide leverage in your career!
