About The Programme

The integration of Lloyds TSB and HBOS was one of the largest in history, and although the official integration period is over, there is still much for us to do internally. Responding to a dynamic regulatory framework and continuing to work together as one company with many separate brands brings us many challenges. It brings opportunities too, as we work to ensure that the customer is at the forefront of all our decisions.

Few other organisations are experiencing change of this magnitude, so joining Lloyds Banking Group will enable you to gain invaluable experience within this exciting industry.

Our Finance Programme is sponsored by several senior leaders within the business. Their direct input into the scheme and placements will ensure you develop all the skills needed to fast-track you into becoming a future financial leader too.

About the Placements

We've designed this three-year rotational programme to give you a broad overview of how each part of the bank operates. From the Retail Branch Network, Commercial Banking or an Operations centre, to the Finance Director's Office and other Group Executive Functions, you'll work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. You'll be exposed to business areas and opportunities few finance professionals are lucky enough to experience - giving you all the skills and expertise you need to lead this department and help shape its future.

Throughout the programme, we'll also support you to gain your Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) or Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualifications, with training delivered by the UK's leading professional education group, BPP. Our dedicated Finance Academy will also support your development and career progression.

Your first, one-year, Core Finance placement is all about gaining an in-depth understanding of the major influence Finance has in the success of our business. Here you'll gain a breadth of experience, learning about the many roles and responsibilities that make up our Finance function.

It's vital that you gain a thorough understanding of how we operate, and so your second placement - Commercial Business - will see you take an exciting six-month journey into the unknown. You might end up in a team leader role in one of our operational centres, or even one of our high street branches. Wherever you find yourself, you'll develop customer focus and leadership skills to the full. Next, a six-month Finance Project placement will enable to you apply what you've learned - giving you the basic skills for becoming a successful co-pilot.

In the final year of the programme, you'll find your niche. Refining, polishing and broadening your skills, you'll become a well-rounded Finance professional. Whether you take on a Generalist or Specialist Finance position, you'll build on your knowledge, expertise and leadership flair, and springboard into a promising future with us.

What we are looking for

We're looking for people with the talent, energy, drive and determination to bring a whole new dimension to our business. You should be able to influence and build professional relationships at all levels. And, as well as being adaptable in a constantly changing environment, you'll need to be geographically mobile - able to work wherever we need you across the Group.
